A small bug was found in the RC 3 and has been fixed in the RC 4. If a user had disabled javascript he was not able to post a shout.

Hi Bart,
The sound is not working. And I get a javascript error on your page.
window.addEvent is not a function
[Break on this error] window.addEvent ('load', function(e){
I have tried Safari and FF 3.0.3 on OSX 10.5.5.
For sounds and other features, check out what I did to your previous Joomla 1.0 version on my site www.studyjapanese.org. I also added a popup window for people who wants to use it in the same way as MSN/AOL. It was easily done by adding an user interface to the component. Only available for logged in users though. You're welcome to contact me if you want to discuss any further developments.
Thanks for a nice component.
/Johan

I'm really interested on the spam protection. Reading the previous comment here I'm a bit concerned that this feature is not present or not effective. I would like to hear some more insight on this because I don't want to buy the component and then end up with the home page full of spam like wih the previous versione for joomla 1.0.
Spam spam spam

the spamming is really annoying. I deactivated the guest shout functionality - and ... still spam. So there must be a backdoor! The funny thing is that my page is not announced and still in a testing phase - nobody knows the url, I hope the tool itself is not the reason why all these spammers find my homepage. This would be unbelievable. I hope that there is soon a reaction from Batjo

So spam is dealt with?? If I upgrade then to this new version I should be okay? I'm having the same issues as others. Cheers...
