Shoutbox Pro 1.3 Released

After quite a while, the long awaited new release of the Shoutbox Pro is ready. This version has a great new feature: a high performance option. Some users noted that on a shared webhosting the shoutbox can be a bit too heavy and with this new option we fixed it! Instead of loading the complete Joomla! framework for each AJAX request, we just load the relevant query without the Joomla! framework, resulting in much less CPU usage. However, there is one downside: you'll lose the ability to use smilies and bbcode (because the framework is not loaded). We're thinking about a fix for this in the next version. You can find the high performance option in the advanced module parameters.
This release also includes a bug fix for the phpBB3 avatars. You'll need the latest version of the Rokbridge use the avatar function.

Dublin here I come

As you might have guessed from the title I'll be in Dublin for the coming 2 weeks. I was offered an opportunity to work at the university in the same field as my master thesis will be so it's a nice introduction. Support will be a bit slower than normal but I'll be checking in on the forum and email once in a while.
At the same time here's a little update for the next version: phpBB avatars will work correctly, sef issue will be fixed, live counter for latest message and message can be added to the bottom. Expect an update after I get back!

Little status update

As you might have noticed I haven't been able to release a new version of the shoutbox last weeks. I've been very busy with my internship and right after that my two final exams ever

. That's why everything is a little behind shedule but since I have a couple of weeks of now I'll do my best do deliver a new version of the shoutbox before I start with my master thesis. Both the free and the pro version will get an update in the coming weeks!

Shoutbox Pro 1.2 beta 2

Shoutbox Pro 1.2 beta 2 has been released. It contains two fixes for the community builder integration. If you don't use community builder there's no need to upgrade.

At the same time I'm working on the next version of the shoutbox, both free and pro. I can't tell you all the new things yet but there are at least 2 long requested features in it I hope to release it in about 2 weeks.

Shoutbox Pro 1.2 beta1

The first beta of the 1.2 release of shoutbox Pro is available. This new version comes with some great new features. The long awaited avatar support (at the moment for (JomSocial, JUser and CB), BBCode and several bug fixes.

If you have version 1.1.2 running it's important that you first install the patch that you can find in the download section. Then upgrade to 1.2 beta1 using the method descriped at the download page.
